Big update - v0.2


Hey, Big update today ! here is a small non exhaustive recap of the things I add/twist/remove for this update.
Biggest one to me, the prediction feels 100% accurate now. I struggled to get it right so I very happy this is finally working well.

Bonus RNG Update:
Each bonus now has its own weighted probability, making it harder to get all-white bonuses and easier to get things like Prediction +1. These probabilities can also vary between game modes.

New Game Variants:

  • Luc Mode: All pockets start larger.
  • Free Play: Faults are disabled, but all other rules remain.
  • Obstacle Course: Fewer dead balls at the start. Bonus weights are rebalanced, with a focus on rock ball bonuses.

New Bonus Spawn Modes:

  • Doomed Game: Now start with max stats.
  • Zero to Hero: Start with minimum stats, but no maluses will appear.
  • Roguelite: Only random bonuses spawn on the table. Pot balls to score points, and choose a new perk/ability/bonus after each level.

New Bonuses:

  • Only White: This former random modifier is now a bonus.
  • Gold Hand: Replaces the free cue ball. Lets you reposition the ball freely, beyond just your next turn.
  • Chalk: Chalk your cue for a powerful effect!

New Random Bonuses:

  • Gold Ball: Make a gold ball appears on the table. Pot it to earn a major bonus.

UI

Settings Screen:
You can now adjust music and SFX volume, and disable screenshake. Yes, music volume ! The game as currently a placeholder music that I should remove very fast. But I’m curious how you think it impacts the game and if the mood is right to you.


End Screen:
At the end of a game, you’ll now see the current score for each player across the session, along with which balls were potted in the last game.

Quick Game Menu:
Quick Game randomly selects a game variant, table, and bonus spawn. You can reroll each setting once.

Custom Game Improvements:
Changing the bonus spawn mode now updates player stats accordingly. You can still tweak them manually afterward.

Quality of Life

  • Ball sprites updated for better accessibility.
  • Better UI in the timer in game (shaking, flashing red) and you have now more time to play.
  • Subtle outline added to show which balls you can legally hit.
  • Prediction lines now include an indicator for valid target balls.
  • Thunder FX on ball spawns now appear in different colors based on the ball.
  • Major code optimizations across the board.
  • Improved visual and sound feedback for bonuses and game events.

Fixes

  • Bonus spawn for the next round now uses the correct player data.
  • Fixed a bug where clearing the table with only black or only you bonuses didn’t end the game properly.
  • Ghostballs should now behave more consistently.
  • Bonuses should no longer visually clip into other elements.
  • Fixed prediction issues when balls are repositioned after ghostballs (e.g., overlapping positions).
  • Black inv rules should now work more reliably.
